We ask that people who would like to use this service register with Community Links by completing a simple form which can be found on the downloads section on the right of this page. There is no registration charge.
Once registered you will be sent additional information about how to book a journey. Where possible please book three working days in advance, so that the team can try to meet your transport requests. Occasionally, however, we may be able to meet your request at short notice should we receive cancellations. All the Community links vehicles have disability access. To read some comments from people who have used this service please see the Community Links Leaflet and the Communit Links Courier leaflet available from the downloads section on this page.
Community Links now opeartes five days a week, Monday to Friday, across the whole of the District, including the town centre, from 9.15am to 2.30pm
Please note the service does not operate on Bank Holidays. If you live in a village, Community Links vehicles will try to reach any address, but some places may not be accessible. Cars will not leave the public highway.
Customers are charged a flat rate of:
£1.50 for a single journey.
£3.00 for a return journey.
(Price correct at October 2011)
If you are a carer and are travelling with the person you care for, then you can travel free of charge.
The Community Links service can be used for a wide range of individual travel needs, such as visiting friends, attending social groups, leisure activities, lifelong learning and, of course, shopping.
If you, or someone you know, need such a service, or if you would like more information, please contact the Community Links team on: 01789 264491.
The Community Links transport scheme works in close co-operation with two other transport schemes in the district:
