New legislation came into effect on Friday 29th September 2006.

NOT YOUR BADGE? THEN DO NOT USE IT!

New legislation includes the power for authorised officers to inspect badges when the parking concessions under the scheme are being used or contravened. Authorised officers can be police officers, traffic wardens, civil enforcement officers.

Offences can be broken down into at least three broad categories;

1. The holder deliberately misusing the badge
2. A person other than the badge holder misusing the badge
3. A person using a stolen or fraudulently altered badge or a fraudulently created document designed to look like a badge
