Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? Bloggers can use it as a mini-blogging tool.
Twitter is free to use, and you can sign up to the service very easily by creating an account on the Twitter website.
Once signed up, you can 'follow' our Twitter feed and receive our updates via the Twitter website, by using a variety of desktop applications or by downloading an application to your mobile phone, iPhone or iPod Touch.
For more information, and for full answers to any questions, Twitter have a comprehensive FAQ section. It's definitely worth a read through if you have any doubts.
You can now receive free Twitter updates on your mobile. This service will hopefully be rolled out across all UK mobile carriers soon.
To receive our tweets on your mobile, just make sure you've registered your mobile number on your account, and enabled device updates for our @StratfordDC Twitter feed.
To help explain how Twitter works, we've embedded a video below from the fantastic team at HowCast.
