This section is responsible for:
· admission to nursery schools
· admission at 4+ age to primary schools
· admissions to and transfers between schools (including selection tests)
· information and advice for parents about admissions to schools and advice to schools concerning admissions
· children to be allocated places out of their chronological year group
· providing papers for admissions appeals and representing the individual school - please note the appeal hearings are set up by the Legal Services Division of the Chief Executive's Department
· annual consultation on admission arrangements
· working with the Admissions Forum to consider the effectiveness of local admission arrangements
· working with other local education authorities concerning children transferring schools and the co-ordinated system of transfer to secondary schools from 2005 entry
