Certain topics are still covered by old-style SPG. Each SPG relates to a specific aspect of the Stratford-on-Avon District Local Plan Review. As such, they remain relevant and legally valid.
On 25 July 2005 the District Council adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance the general principles and area specific design guidance contained in the Stratford-upon-Avon Residential Character Study.
Stratford-upon-Avon - Design in Residential Areas
On 28 February 2005 the District Council adopted guidance for assessing the open space requirement on development sites in Stratford-upon-Avon and the Main Rural Centres. Where provision is not made on site, a methodology is provided for calculating the level of financial contribution towards off-site provision.
An audit of open space in Stratford-upon-Avon and the Main Rural Centres has been carried out to assist the operation of this guidance.
In November 2001 the District Council, along with Cotswold and Wychavon District Councils, adopted guidance to control the location of new development and the expansion of existing businesses that would generate additional HGV movements in the Vale of Evesham.
On 18 September 2000 the District Council adopted comprehensive design guidance for developers. Its central focus is maintaining the distinctive, local qualities of the District.
