The Council is now using the national standard 1APP forms although applications submitted on forms previously issued by the Council can be accepted until 6 May 2008.
To speed up the process you can submit your application online via the national Planning Portal website.
Current and developing planning policy information can be downloaded. The law makes it clear that decisions on planning applications should be made in line with the policies in the Development Plan unless other strong reasons justify otherwise.
The Council has recently adopted a Supplementary Planning Document called 'Sustainable Low-carbon Buildings' which provides guidance on the implementation of policies to promote sustainable drainage, energy conservation and renewable energy. The requirements apply to all applications for

Simplified Energy Statement form for householders - format for giving information on proposed sustainable drainage and energy efficiency measures as required by the 'Sustainable Low-carbon Buildings' SPD. You can complete this form to meet the requirements for an Energy Statement to accompany a householder planning application.
