A planning application is not required for normal sized domestic TV and radio aerials. Ham radio aerials normally require a planning application.
In certain circumstances, you would need to apply for planning permission to install a satellite dish on your house. In any case, no more than one satellite dish may be installed on a house or block of flats without the need for a planning application.
If your house is a listed building, you would need listed building consent in order to install a satellite dish on your house.
We recommend that you fill out a Householders Enquiry form and post it to the Council. We will then advise you in writing whether you need planning permission, or other consents, for your proposal.
The Householders Guide to Satelite Dishes explains about the number and size of dishes and appropriate places to site them on your property.
