The Council is preparing a Core Strategy for Stratford-on-Avon District which will have a major bearing on how and where development takes place over the next 20 years.
This is the first and most critical part of the Local Development Framework which will eventually replace the District Local Plan. A first Draft Core Strategy was published for public consultation in November 2008. It suggests:
- An overall strategy for how and where development should take place,
- locations for new houses, jobs and services in the larger towns and villages across the district,
- how smaller communities can meet their own needs for housing and other development.
The Draft Core Strategy was consulted on between November 2008 and February 2009. An analysis of all the comments and representations made can be viewed as part of the Consultation Core Strategy 2010.
