These documents do not have the same legal status as SPD's and SPG. Nevertheless, they provide useful information on various aspects of planning and the form of development.
In March 2006, a guidance note was approved setting out how the layout and design of development can contribute to the reduction in crime and the fear of crime, and discourage anti-social behaviour, by creating safer places.
On 4 July 2005 an informal guidance note was approved to advise farmers on how to bring forward schemes to diversify their activities and the issues that need to be addressed in the consideration of planning applications.
Planning for Farm Diversification
On 8 December 2003 the District Council adopted a masterplan, produced jointly with Warwickshire County Council, setting out a design-led vision for the future of the Waterfront public realm and in the context of the anticipated proposals for the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
Stratford-upon-Avon Waterfront Masterplan
On 30 September 2002 the District Council adopted a Design Statement prepared by representatives of the town's residents. It analyses the character of the town and seeks to influence the nature of new development.
