In August 2007 a group comprising Coventry City Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and the County, Districts and Boroughs of Warwickshire commissioned Halcrow to produce a Level 1 Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) in accordance with Planning Policy Statement 25 (PPS 25).
The purpose of this SFRA is to assess and map all forms of flood risk from groundwater, surfacewater, sewer and river sources, taking into account future climate change predictions, and use this as an evidence base to locate future development primarily in low flood risk areas.
The outputs from the SFRA will help the Councils to prepare sustainable policies for the long-term management of flood risk and improve existing emergency planning procedures.
Written documents can be downloaded below:
The SFRA is accompanied by maps covering the District:
- Watercourses
- Strategic flood risk
- Climate change
- Geology
- Historic Flooding
- Flood warning
Unfortunately, due to their large size, it is not possible to display them on the website. Hard copies are available for inspection at Elizabeth House, Stratford-upon-Avon. Please telephone 01789 260304 to arrange to view.
