Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment

The purpose of this Assessment was to provide information on the accommodation needs of Gypsies and Travellers for sub-regional and district level planning policy to set the appropriate number, type and distribution of additional pitches to be provided.

At the time the assessment was undertaken it set a strategic view of Gypsy and Traveller needs across the region to provide pitch numbers at District level for inclusion in the Regional Spatial Strategy and in the emerging Local Development Framework.

It is the Government's intention to revoke the Regional Spatial Strategy.

The Assessment was prepared by Rupert Scott and covers the South Housing Market Area of the West Midlands region which incudes Stratford district. It was published in March 2008.
