As part of the drive to provide a quicker, more predictable and efficient planning service, new standard planning application forms (1APP) were introduced for applications for planning permission made under the Town and Country Planning system.
Additionally, planning applications are tested for validity against published standard checklists. The checklists are divided into National Requirements and Local Requirements. The checklists set out the information and supporting documentation which is required to be supplied for the different types of application - in order for the application to be validated. By using the checklists, both applicants and Local Authorities can avoid delays in the decision making process.
The new forms and associated validation checklists are a mandatory requirement from 6 April 2008. The Council formally adopted the Local Requirements part of the validation checklist on 21 April 2008. Amendments to the checklist for forms 15 and 25 were made in April 2009.

The downloadable 1APP Forms and their associated checklists have already been amended and the full Validation Checklist document below is currently being amended to reflect these changes and will be available shortly.
