Local Development Scheme (LDS)

As a part of the new Local Development Framework (LDF) for the District the Council is required to publish a Local Development Scheme (LDS). This is a three-year project plan which sets out the current planning policies for the District and how these policies will be reviewed and developed. To this end the LDS serves two key purposes:

• it sets out the current documents which form the development plan for the planning of the District, and

• it provides the programme for the preparation of new local development documents, setting out a timetable for the various stages in the preparation of each document.

The Council has recently reviewed its programme for preparing LDF documents. The latest situation is set out in the Annual Monitoring Report 2007 that has been submitted to the Secretary of State.
