Sustainable Low-Carbon Buildings - SPD

The document provides guidance on the implementation of policies within the adopted Local Plan which promote sustainable drainage, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy in new development.

All planning applications will be expected to show how these sustainability issues have been taken into account in the design of the scheme by submitting an Energy Statement with the application. Larger schemes, for example a new dwelling or offices, wil be required to incorporate renewable energy into the scheme to reduce the overall predicted carbon dioxide emissions by at least 10%.

New requirements for all planning applications
The requirements apply to all planning applications, including householder and outline applications, received from 1st January 2008.
