This page provides information about the Masterplan which is being prepared in respect of the Former Engineer Resources Depot at Long Marston.
Policy CTY.18 of the Stratford-on-Avon District Local Plan Review requires that any proposals to redevelop the Long Marston site should be supported by a Masterplan prepared in consultation with local communities, neighbouring local authorities and other interested parties. The owners of the site, St Modwen, are now working with the District Council to prepare a Masterplan for the site.
The preparation of the Masterplan is viewed as a pre-cursor to the submission of a planning application which would secure the long-term use of the site.
Two initial community consultation events were held in October 2007 at Quinton and Long Marston to gather the community's views on the issues surrounding the development of the site and the potential options for redevelopment. The exhibition which was used at the events can be viewed here. The consultation was seeking views on four potential options:
People also had the opportunity to suggest alternative options and submit written comments. The consultation period ended on Friday 2 November 2007.
The comments are being assessed by Barton Willmore who will then prepare a preferred option for the Long Marston Estate. This will be presented for further consultation.
