Policy CTY.20 of the Stratford-on-Avon District Local Plan Review identifies the former cement works site as being suitable for a mixed use development. The policy specifies that any development of the site should be in accordance with a Masterplan to be prepared by the District Council in conjunction with a range of interested parties. Working jointly with a range of partners including the site owners and representatives of the local communities, the Council has produced a Masterplan supplementary planning document (SPD). The Masterplan seeks to reconcile all the issues raised by the prospective redevelopment of the site and will provide a framework for determining the suitability of detailed development proposals in the future.
The SPD was adopted by the Council on 17 December 2007.
