Under the new planning system established by the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, guidance is provided in Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD). These form part of the Local Development Framework and have to be produced in accordance with the procedures introduced by the 2004 Act.
The District Council has adopted a number of SPDs, some of which have been converted from Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG). Each document provides detailed guidance on how a specific aspect of the District Council's planning policy will be applied.
