Stratford-on-Avon District Council is committed to improving the environment of the area, and ensuring that the district is run in as sustainable a manner as is possible. There are many different services that work together to ensure that we can all live and work in safe, attractive and healthy places.
Eco-Town Proposal
In July 2007 the government invited expressions of interest in the development of Eco-towns. St Modwen and the Bird Group submitted an expression of interest to the Government for the development of an Eco-town of 6000 dwellings which they are referring to as 'Middle Quinton'. The site includes the former Engineers Depot at Long Marston.
The government have now published a short list of fifteen locations which are going through further stages of consultation. This short list includes the 'Middle Quinton' proposal.

Council objects to removal of payphones in Stratford District
Stratford-on-Avon District Council has issued its draft decision in response to the BT's proposals to remove 51 payphones across the District.
