Stratford-on-Avon District Council is committed to improving the environment of the area, and ensuring that the district is run in as sustainable a manner as is possible. There are many different services that work together to ensure that we can all live and work in safe, attractive and healthy places.

Eco-Town Proposal
In July 2007 the government invited expressions of interest in the development of Eco-towns. St Modwen and the Bird Group submitted an expression of interest to the Government for the development of an Eco-town of 6000 dwellings which they are referring to as 'Middle Quinton'. The site includes the former Engineers Depot at Long Marston.

The government have now published a short list of fifteen locations which are going through further stages of consultation. This short list includes the 'Middle Quinton' proposal.

Planning Applications
Big changes have been made to Planning services as part of the Council's programme of customer service and business process improvements:

• It is now possible to submit 1APP planning applications over the internet via the national Planning Portal website.
• Please note you can still download and print Planning applications from the Download 1APP Forms page of this website.
• From the Planning Applications page of this website you can search for and view current and previous applications, view weekly lists of applications and decisions made, and submit comments on applications; in addition to being able to access both online application forms and Planning forms to download.
• It is also possible to submit comments to planning applications via e-mail to planning.applications@stratford-dc.gov.uk
• For those with questions about the planning process, our website now includes a long list of Frequently Asked Questions, which can be accessed using the link above.

Council objects to removal of payphones in Stratford District
