Growing Opportunities Plan 2026-2029

The Growing Opportunities Plan 2026-2029 replaces the Growing Opportunities Plan 2023-2025. It has been structured around seven key missions and uses national and local data to ensure focus on the important issues and priority communities within the district. The plan is hosted by our Social Inclusion Partnership (SIP) and facilitated jointly by the district and county council where we are aiming to build upon a rich history of partnership working. This is the fourth plan co-created to address social inequality across Stratford-on-Avon District.

The plan seeks to better understand inequality that exists in the district. The aim is to reduce poverty, improve health and wellbeing and create opportunities for residents to achieve their potential. It builds upon the considerable efforts of a range of organisations that already exist within the district. It targets activity on enhancing opportunities and quality of life for everyone, but especially those most disadvantaged.

The plan has been developed through extensive research and analysis, and through a process of consultation with public bodies, the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector (VCFSE) and other community stakeholders. It identifies opportunities, sets priorities, explains why they were chosen and outlines what we intend to do about them.

The plan has been developed from local and national drivers as shown below:
