Released on 15 January 2010
The snowfall on Wednesday 13 January has caused disruption to the Council's new revised schedule.
Disrupted collections on the schedule have almost been caught up so that from Tuesday 19 January all collections will be back to the Council's normal collection days.
Saturday 16 January and Monday 18 January will still have amendments to the revised schedule detailed below.
The Refuse and Recycling Service arrangements for Saturday 16 January are detailed below.
The Refuse and Recycling Service arrangements for Monday 18 January are detailed below.
The information above is still based on the new and revised schedule, which has replaced the Christmas schedule.
Because of the delays the crews will collect up to three additional sacks of waste during this catch up period only. Any additional waste needs to be securely tied in black bags and placed next to the bin.
Extra recycling side waste will also be taken, but this must be in a box or other suitable container not in a black sack.
Again, Stratford District Council would like to apologise for the disruption to the current service and hope that residents bear with us and thank them for their patience during this spell of winter weather and be assured that we are committed to resuming a normal service as soon as possible.

Congratulations on keeping us informed of all the changes. This web site is fantastic & should be commended. Thank you & well done.

The information given is just plain wrong. For example, our recycling, usually collected on Friday, and scheduled for Saturday was not collected. I walked into town yesterday (Sunday), and hundreds of unemptied blue-lid bins were on the street. The council official updating this page must walk and drive around town with their eyes shut.

Thanks for your efforts, SDC; they weren't always accurate, but with rounds necessarily being disrupted and abandoned half-finished, this is understandable. Collecting rubbish is a very physical process; some people's refusal to accept the physical limitations imposed by abnormal weather is a sad reflection of modern values of selfishness and intolerance.

We are still waiting for our recycling to be collected, it said on this website our revised time will be the Saturday 16th instead of the Friday 15th. and it is still outside ready for collection. I also went for a walk on Sunday, the whole town has got bins everwhere.

I have to agree with others that information is not correct as dates that were given were never meet!!! still waiting for our grey and blue bins to be emptied!!.Our recylcing bin has not been emptied before christmas I understand the inclement weather that has been however roads have been clear for 3-4 days but still now empty bins to be seen.it has just gone bcak to the normal calender and in my opinion not much effort has been made to catch up with the service.we are still expected to pay our taxes however!!!!1 rant over

Monday 18th - collections back to normal schedule - I don't think so!! Not in Bidford anyway. Website needs another update please. I sympathise with the plight of what is hard work in difficult conditions but surely someone sat in a warm office can keep us upto date with what to expect. What is really ridiculous is that I came across a lorry collecting garden waste last week, surely grey and blue is the priority at this time.

Having taken the opportunity to read the commetns left on this and related pages can I just advise against standing in wheelie bins, with or without big boots as I am personally aware of two gentlemen who have ended up in A & E with injuries following this activity and theses services are quite stretched enough during this time.

I would like to thank the woman who rang me after i enquired about bin collections and rang me within ten minutes of sending my email very good service.
