The sports awards 2009 will be held on Friday 9th January 2009. Nominations in all the following categories need to be submitted using the printable nomination form to the council offices by 21st November 2008. Alternatively you can use the online nomination form, which you can fill in then save and e-mail back to sports@stratford-dc.gov.uk
This award will be made to a person or persons who have made a significant contribution to the Community through sport in 2008.
This category is open to girls and boys aged 17 and under as at 31st December 2008.
This category is open to individuals 18 years and over as at 31st December 2008.
This category is also open to teams of 2 (i.e. doubles in tennis) and above. A school team can be either primary or secondary.
All team members must be 17 and under as at 31st December 2008. (Exception - School teams may include pupils who turn 18 by August 31st 2009 i.e. 6th form students).
This category is also open to teams of 2 or more people. All team members should be 18 years or over by 31st December 2008. (Exception - Teams of 6 people or more i.e. Basketball, Rugby etc may include no more than two under 18's).
The coach or P.E. teacher may be a voluntary or paid position but the person must have made a significant contribution to improving the standard of an individual, club or school in any sport.
This category is open to individuals who make a large voluntary commitment or contribution to the day to day running and administration of a club.
The Service to Sport category is for an individual who has made a notable contribution to sport within the Stratford-on-Avon District over many years with one or more clubs or sports. This is an award to that special someone who has enriched many sports lives along the way.
This category is open to teams or individuals who excel at their sport or pastime i.e. dance, skipping, skateboarding, rollerblading etc.
This category is open to amateur press correspondent who have selflessly contributed to the promotion of their club through weekly press reports.
