2011 Secondary School's BASKETBALL
Basketball features highly over the months of November to February, with a number of our District Secondary School's taking part against each other at Stratford Leisure and Visitor Centre.
The Annual event, organised by Stratford on Avon District Council, saw the School's take part in the Boy's Under 16, Under 15 and Under 13 tournaments and also the Girl's Under 13, Under 14 and Under 16 tournaments.
The Secondary School's taking part were: Alcester Grammar, Alcester High, Henley in Arden High, Kineton High, King Edward VI Grammar, Shipston High, Southam College, St.Benedict's High, Stratford High School and Studley High.
This represented 9 out of 11 Secondary Schools in our District, with over 300 children taking part.
The Champions in each age group are as follows:

The tournaments were played in a good spirit and each competitor was awarded a certificate of participation. The high standard of basketball played at this competition continues to improve year on year and recognition must go to the quality of coaching by the teacher at the schools. Each year, we continually seek for competent referees, scorers and helpers in many of our organised school and community sports and other events. If you feel that you are already suitably qualified and would like to help out or would like further information to gain a relevant qualification on one of our courses, then please contact the Leisure Services team on 01789 260115.
