The Housing Advice Team aims to provide timely and effective advice for anyone in the Stratford-on-Avon District to help them resolve their accommodation difficulties
- We will, at all times, comply with the statutory requirements on equal opportunities and relevant codes of practice to ensure equality of treatment for all applicants regardless of a person's class, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, age or disability.
- We will keep our information up to date and can arrange letters in an alternative language, Braille, large print and can organise an interpretation service for you at interview. If you are not able to visit the office we can arrange to discuss your housing options at your own home.
- We will aim at all times to give you accurate advice and intervene on our clients behalf in a sensitive, professional and timely manner.
- Our target is to register 87% of applications for housing association homes within 10 working days of having received all of the information required.
- We aim to assist those approaching us for help by enabling them to solve their own housing difficulties using the most appropriate of a range of housing options.
- Our target is to process 82% of claims for assistance from homeless households and notify them of the outcome within 35 working days. Where we are not able to do this, we will explain clearly why.
- We have introduced a target of 95% of customers who have completed Satisfaction Survey Forms who think the overall service provided by the Housing Advice Team is fairly or very good.
- All information provided to the Housing Advice Team in support of an application is confidential. Generally this information will only be seen by the Housing Advice Team at the District Council. However, some information may be passed to doctors, social workers or other people on a "need to know" basis. Such information will only be given if it is required by law.
