Housing Needs Surveys

Since October 2003 the Rural Housing Enabler for Warwickshire Rural Community Council has supported rural communities in Stratford District to carry out local surveys of housing need. The purpose of these surveys has been, firstly, to determine the level of need for housing, especially affordable housing and, secondly, to explore community opinion towards new housing development. Many of the surveys have been undertaken as a part of the Parish Plans for the respective communities.

The survey reports you see on the links below have been written primarily to enable the development of small-scale housing schemes specifically to meet the housing needs of local people, in accordance with policies COM.1 and CTY.5 of the adopted Local Plan Review for the District. The only exception to this are survey reports for some of the 'Main Rural Centres' in the District, the reports for which have been written with a further purpose: to support the development of affordable housing on sites allocated for development in the adopted Local Plan.
