It is recognised that the primary responsibility for compliance with the law lies with businesses and individuals. It is also recognised that the enforcing authority plays its part in providing clear, consistent advice and enforcement.
It is the aim of the Food Safety Team to ensure that food and drink intended for human consumption which is produced, stored, distributed or handled in the District is safe, wholesome and without risk to health.
The Food Safety Team, along with representatives for the four other districts, belong to The Food Liaison Group. The aim of the group is to aid consistency of enforcement across the County.
