Construction Noise

The law accepts that there can be a lot of noise from building sites that just cannot be helped. It therefore gives powers to limit hours of working for jobs that cause noise beyond the site boundary. The Council would usually suggest:

Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm

Saturdays: 8am to 1pm

Sunday & Bank Holidays: No noisy works

However, there are some situations where the Council would allow some flexibility with these hours, especially when there are health and safety or good road traffic reasons for doing so.
