The law accepts that there can be a lot of noise from building sites that just cannot be helped. The Council would usually suggest the following operating times for construction work:

• Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm
• Saturdays: 8am to 1pm
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: No noisy works

However, there are some situations where the Council would allow some flexibility with these hours, these can include:

• Health and safety reasons
• Road traffic reasons
• An agreed start time conditioned in planning
• individual circumstance
