A by-election took place in Alcester for the vacant town seat on Thursday 18 September 2008.
The result of the election was:-
| Lennox Cumberbatch | 215 Votes |
| Jeremy Howell | 102 Votes |
Lennox Cumberbatch is elected to the Town Council.
The turnout was 14.34%
