Equality and Human Rights Commission
The new Equality and Human Rights Commission opened on 1 October 2007. The Commission brings together the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Commission for Racial Equality and the Disability Rights Commission under one umbrella.
The new Commission will bring together the work of the three previous organisations, and also takes on the responsibility for the other aspects of equality; age, sexual orientation and religion or belief, as well as human rights.
The new Commission will continue to champion equality and human rights for all. working to eliminate discrimination, reduce inequality, protect human rights and to build good relations, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to participate in society.

Warwickshire Race Equality Partnership (WREP)
WREP is a partnership of voluntary, community and public sector members who work to together to tackle racial discrimination and to promote race equality.
WREP work with agencies to promote good practice in all areas of equality. They offer support victims of racial harassment and discrimination by offering a free, independent and confidential service. In order to promote good race relations across communities they are able to provide an enabling facility for building capacity of black and minority ethnic community.

Warwickshire Victim Support
Victim Support is a national charity, which helps people affected by crime. They provide free and confidential support to help victims deal with their experience, regardless of whether the crime is reported.

Council of Disabled People (CDP)
The Council of Disabled People (CDP) has been in existence since the early 1990's and exists to promote the rights and the full participation of Disabled people economically, socially and politically. CDP is an organisation run by and for Disabled people and works towards promoting the interest of Disabled people regardless of their particular impairment.
CDP carries out its work in through a variety of ways, these include offering information and advice, advocacy, training programmes, commissioning research and mentoring projects.

Warwickshire Association for the Blind (WAB)
Provides services and support for visually impaired people in Warwickshire. They hold weekly walk-in service at Rugby CVS, 19/20 North St. between 10.00 and 1.00 every Wednesday. This has a display of information and equipment for visually impaired people and is run by a community worker. Each week of the month there are different Surgeries including magnifier training and benefits advice.
In addition WAB have regular clubs for blind and partially sighted people at Hamilton House, Rugby Central; Bilton and Hillmorton. They also have a weekly Bowls club based at Oakfield Bowls Club.

Friends and Families of Lesbians and Gays (FFLAG)
FFLAG is an organisation of parents of lesbian daughters and gay sons which seeks to promote the well-being of lesbian, gay and bisexual people, their families and friends by support via confidential helplines and parents' group, education and information, and working locally, nationally and in Europe on issues of equality for lesbian, gay and bisexual people

Coventry and Warwickshire Friend (Gay and lesbian information and counselling)
CW Friend is a voluntary organisation offering information, support and friendship to lesbians and gays, and their families and friends. They also offer face-to-face meetings, information, newsletters and social groups.

Terence Higgins Trust (THT)
THT was one of the first charities to be set up in response to the HIV epidemic and has been at the forefront of the flight against HIV and AIDS ever since.
THT offers a very wide range of support services, including:
* emotional support and information by phone
* help with accessing HIV testing and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) treatment
* advice about your rights in benefits, employment, immigration and housing
* treatment advice
* contact with support groups
* help with accessing grants, respite and complementary therapies
* education for the community about HIV and sexually transmitted infections
* legal advice for those living with HIV
* written information and leaflets
* counselling
