We are required by government to collect information about our performance. There are various sources of performance information available to enable you to track our performance. Managing performance is about practical ways of improving how we do things. Its main purpose is to deliver better quality services to local people.
Performance monitoring is an ongoing process that is incorporated into the way our services are managed. We regularly monitor our performance so that we know what is happening over a period of time to see where we are achieving or falling short of our targets, where we are improving or where we need to concentrate our efforts. The process is to showing our commitment to continuous service improvement and requires services to be delivered in the most efficient, effective, and economic way possible.
All our key performance information is available to all Officers, Members and stakeholders in a single document called 'The Council Plan'. This provides a complete overview of performance and clearly identifies underachieving areas so that early corrective actions or revisions to targets can be undertaken.
