Section 16 of the electoral administration act 2006 introduced a number of changes to the representation of the people act 1983 in respect of the way in which reviews of polling districts and polling places must be undertaken.
The most important thing is that by 31st December 2007 every relevant authority must have undertaken and completed a review of all the polling districts and polling places in it's area.
Following this first review the relevant authority must complete a further review of every polling district and polling place before the end of the period of four years starting with the completion of the previous review.
It is important to note that if it wishes to do so the relevant authority may undertake reviews of all or some of the designated polling districts and the polling places at any time.
The current polling districts and polling places (marked with a pink dot) can be viewed by clicking on the following links (warning: these are very large files and may take some time to load):
Consultation has now closed and the results of this can be found on the right hand side of the page in the downloadable documents area.
