The Council adopted a Communications Strategy in March 2003. The strategy recognises that effective communication is an essential component of managing service provision, both internally with staff and externally with users and other citizens. Feedback from a number of stakeholders was used to establish where we stood at that time and to inform strategy development.
A review of the strategy was undertaken during 2005. As a result of this review the strategy has been revised to recognise certain new priorities that have arisen. The review has suggested that good communication will be critical to the fuller development of the Council's community leadership role.
