Performance Indicators

The new performance reports are currently being reproduced for 2008 and will be available shortly.

We collect and report on various Performance Indicators at different levels;

Best Value Performance Indicator's (BVPI's)

• Set by Government
• They are statutory measures, all Councils have a duty to collate and report them;
• They cover most of our service areas;
• Achievement targets are set by Government for some indicators;
• Reported annually through our Corporate Plan and are subject to a Government Audit;
• Government uses the indicators to measure the effectiveness of how its policies are operating and to judge how well councils are improving.

Local Performance Indicators

• These indicators are set locally, i.e. by individual services to reflect local policies and priorities;
• Targets are also set locally;
• Results are monitored and reported departmentally.
