On our behalf, our contractors Verdant provide a litter picking service throughout the year to ensure high environmental standards are maintained.
Every road, roadside (pavement) and verge in the district is cleared of litter at least once a month. The frequency is set in the agreed litter picking schedule. Town centres and areas of high useage as well as identified 'hot spots' are cleaned more often.
Littering
Dropping litter is a crime. As well as being unsightly and a potential hazard to animal and human health, it costs the Council a lot of money to clear up.
