Ratley and Upton

Like nearby Hornton, Ratley quarried Hornton stone. At Nadbury Camp there was possibly a Bronze Age site. The Church of St Peter ad Vincula is almost entirely 14th century and has notable window tracery. Near to Ratley is Upton House, given by Lord Bearsted to The National Trust in 1948, which has a fine collection of furniture, paintings and china
