Newbold Pacey and Ashorne

The parish is two settlements. It is alleged that the Carews, fleeing the plague in London in the 17th century brought it to Newbold Pacey, and Ashorne was formed by villagers leaving to escape the disease. In the 19th century St George's Church are memorials from the original Norman building. Ashorne Hill Manor, now a management college, was built in the 1890s.
