The Saxon village of Snitterfield offers outstanding rural views due to its elevated position. Shakespeare's grandfather, Richard, settled here in 1529 and his father and uncle farmed here. The spacious medieval church has interesting original features, including finely carved stalls, and is well worth a visit.
