The small market town of Henley-in-Arden has an abundance of early half-timbered and brick buildings in a variety of styles. Its market charter hangs in the Guild Hall which adjoins the 15th century church of St John the Baptist. The parish of Beaudesert is part of the town as well as a large area of countryside to the north. In the Middle Ages the castle of the de Montforts stood on the hill known locally as the Mount.
