Stratford-on-Avon District Council provides a household rubbish collection service within the District.
From 4th August 2008, the new bin arrangements came into effect. Help is still given to elderly, disabled and infirm residents if they need help moving their bins, you just need to contact us so that we can make those arrangements for you.
General waste (grey bin) is collected on the same day every other week except at Christmas and new year. If you want to find out what day your rubbish is normally collected, please use our online rubbish collection calendar.
For those residents in flats or terraced properties, who cannot accommodate bins and so are on a sack service; the collection days and frequencies are the same as those for neighbours with the bins. These residents also qualify for a kitchen caddy, which will allow kitchen waste recycling. These caddies can be collected from any of the Council offices; proof of address will be needed. They can be put out for collection on you recycling day and must contain unwrapped food waste only.
The Council would encourage the use of real nappies, even if you're not able to switch completely any reduction in the number of disposable nappies in your Grey Bin will be a help.
If your rubbish collection is missed for any reason, please use our online notification form so that we can look into the problem. You must notify a missed collection within two working days of the normal collection day for rectification before your next scheduled collection.
For those properties remaining on sack, a maximum of three sacks will be collected in place of the Grey Bin.
