The bins will have to be left at the property boundary with their lids down. No additional bags or boxes placed by or on the bins will be taken.
It is expected that all properties, with a limited number of exceptions will use wheeled bins. However, the Council knows that there are a number of properties where wheeled bins cannot be used, i.e. where their front door opens directly onto the pavement or the property has no drive and is accessed by steps off the public highway. These properties will stay on sacks and boxes. Some blocks of flats may also be unable to use wheeled bins and so will be kept on sacks and boxes.
The Council is operating the extended dry recycling service including cardboard and plastic bottles in the Blue wheeled Bins from this date. This collection will be every other week.
A maximum of 2 bins of green waste will be collected.
Residents who have purchased their own general waste bin can use it up until the Council provides the Grey Bins.
A maximum of three sacks will be collected in place of the Grey Bin for those properties remaining on sacks.
Residents who have purchased their own additional Green Bin will not be able to use it unless they opt for an additional paid service (details to be confirmed).
