Loxley

In the late 8^th century King Offa of Mercia gave the settlement of Loxley to the fledgling Cathedral at Worcester. By 1086 the Domesday Book records a thriving agricultural community with a resident priest. Today the Parish has 338 residents. St Nicholas Church still stands on the site given by King Offa and the meadow by the church, where the ancient ploughed strips can be seen, is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
