The launch of Warwickshire County Council's Community Development Fund takes place on Wednesday 5th May. The Community Development Fund is designed to help communities, particularly in the more deprived parts of the County, to address issues of local concern to them. Local organisations and community groups are invited to apply for grants of up to £8,000 for one-off projects that will provide lasting benefit to the community. Bids should normally be supported by the County Councillor for the electoral division in which the project is based. Bids for a wider area or community interest can be supported by a County Councillor involved with the group concerned.
Full details about the fund are set out in the application form and guidance notes which are available by email from the Area office at stratford@warwickshire.gov.uk, or from the website www.warwickshire.gov.uk/stratfordarea. If you wish to apply, please fill in the application form and return it to the address given on the form. A hard copy of the completed and signed applications should be returned to the Stratford Area Office by 5 pm on Monday 5th July. They will then be evaluated and recommendations made to the Stratford-on-Avon Area Committee on Wednesday 20th October. Please note: WCC are unable to fund any projects that start before the decision is made on 20th October.
Due to the popularity of the Fund last year, WCC are inviting prospective applicants to a workshop which will be held on Thursday 17th June between 2 pm - 4 pm at Stratford District Council Offices. The purpose of the workshop will be for applicants to find out more information about the fund, what sort of projects have been funded in the past and to seek further guidance and support for their application, to include signposting to any other relevant sources of funding for their projects. Places are limited so please book early to guarantee a place. For an application form and futher details contact: amandawilsonpatterson@warwickshire.gov.uk on 01789 290787.
