The Sunday Trading Act 1994 limits shop opening hours. The critical consideration is the floor area definition.
Small shops - Under 280sq m/ 3,000 sq ft - no restrictions on opening.
Large shops - Over 280 sq m/ 3,000 sq ft - restrictions as follows:-
Large stores should notify Stratford-on-Avon District Council if they intend to open on Sundays. The Sunday Trading Act 1994 regulates shop opening hours but does not regulate the sale of particular goods.
Please note that currently a Sunday Trading Licence is free.
