We regulate certain business activities which involve animals, to safeguard animal health and welfare. We do this by issuing licences and carrying out inspections on premises to make sure that conditions and regulations are complied with.
We issue licences for :
Most licences are renewable annually.
Fees for licences are reviewed every two years and come into force in July.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) are able to provide specialist animal health and welfare information and advice.
