On the 24th of November 2005 the Licensing Act 2003 came into force and permissions granted under the old licensing regimes became null and void. Therefore a Premises Licence (and Personal Licence in the case of sale of alcohol) or Temporary Event Notice (TEN) must be in force at any venue where licensable activities are to take place.
